Tarun Balani  Instrument- Drums

 

Tarun Balani is a magnetic drummer, percussionist, composer and a music educator from New Delhi, India. Tarun also leads his own group, the Tarun Balani Collective. The music of the collective represents Tarun's vision as a composer, drawing from a world of influences, finding it's expression in the modern jazz idiom.


Tarun holds a bachelors degree in music from the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Tarun developed his voice as a world jazz drummer playing for the Berklee Global Jazz Ensemble where he studied and shared the stage with artistes like Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Joe lovano, Goerge Garzone, Ron Carter, among others.

Tarun is also the creative director at Global Music Institute.



Cajon

Cajon is an Afro-Peruvian musical instrument and today, the cajón is heard extensively in Cuban, Coastal Peruvian or Musica criolla musical styles: Tondero, Zamacueca and Peruvian Waltz, modern Flamenco and certain styles of modern Rumba.

Rajib Karmakar

 


Rajib is the third generation of musician in his family.a promising  young  musician. started learning the sitar at the tender age of four from his father Shri Durgadas Karmakar .His other gurus include Ustad Ghulam Akbar Khan and ustad Shahid Pervez Khan.Having received SURMANI from Sur Sringar Samshad, Mumbai , Baba Allauddin Khan Award he is also a Gold Medalist in M.A. ( Music ). Rajib is performing frequently all over India and abroad. He has three Cds under his name till now. Rajib's versatility has ably adapted his classical knowledge and skill in his fusion projects like FUZORHYTHM(India),LOOP SCIENCE(Germany), NADA NAISSANCE( France) etc. He is the creator of the world's first double necked electric Sitar " MAYUR TANTRI" .


 

SITAR


Sitar is one of the most popular stringed instruments of India .  It derives its resonance from  a long hollow neck, sympathetic strings and a Gourd resonating Chamber . As an Instrument, it has been widely used in various works all across the Globes in various genres of Music and is widely acclaimed throughout the World.

Dholak-

 

dholak is basically a very popular folk instrument of Indian music. Nowadays it is widely used in different genres of music apart from Indian folk.Styles that use Dholak are Bhajans, Indian Light Classical Music, Film Songs, Folk Music, Geet, Qawalli, Kirtan and Dhun.

Tombak is an Iranian percussion that is used in Persian Classical Music and is the main percussion of. Persian music.  drum is. Gublet shaped and is covered by a hide from one side. The instrument actively uses all the ten fingers of both hands and also for a player of the drum will be able to use both the hands with same control and power.

Amit  Goswami

 Amit Goswami is a brilliant young artists of Sarod. Amit,  representative of Seniya Gharana, learnt the intricacies of Indian instrumental music from his father Late Pt. Jash Karan Goswami, who was a disciple of legendary Sarod maestro Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.

 

Apart from having won many awards and titles, Amit Goswami is an ‘A’ grade artist of all India Radio. As a performing artist he has travelled extensively all over India. 

 

SAROD


Sarod is the most popular and prominent instrument in Hindustani classical music. It  is known for a deep, weighty, introspective sound. It is a fretless instrument able to produce the continuous slides between notes known as meend which is important to Indian music.

The sarod is believed by some to have descended from the Afghan rubab, The name Sarod roughly translates to "beautiful sound" or "melody" in Persian.
